Today was a terrible day for my wife and I. We lost our 16 year old Maine Coon mix named Gizmo. He was one of the sweetest, chillest cats I've ever had in my life. He was very vocal as well, and would always meow whether it was because he wanted food or attention. He hasn't been doing great the past few days, so I sadly knew it was probably his time was coming fast. It happened so suddenly because he has been drinking water and eating food... RIP to Gizmo. He had many nicknames too, I would call him mister purrs, sir purrs a lot, hecking chonk, detective ploppers, and potato. My kitten Mochi looked for him for a brief moment after we came home from the vet. We will be getting another cat for Mochi in the future, but not right away. Gizmo was my wife's cat and she got him right before we graduated high school in 2008. This is the hardest part about owning pets. Here's my hecking chonk, I miss you buddy.
In rememberance of Gizmo (2008-2024)

I am so sorry to hear of both of your losses! We had to put down our dog in 2012 & our 18 year old cat July 2021. Those were the more recent ones. It hurts!
Sending both of you virtual hugs!!

It's always tough when your pets pass. Thank you for the virtual hugs, it means a lot! He lived a long life and we're happy we gave him a good one. We got his ashes the other day, still deciding on which picture we're going to put in the urn and where we're going to place his ashes so our kitten doesn't knock them over. :V

We have urns of our dog & cat with their pictures too. I have it in my bedroom & I say Good Night to them every night like I did when they were still alive. It took me a bit to look at them though shortly after they passed without breaking out into tears.

I'm sorry to hear. I can't imagine how difficult that was.

It was difficult for sure. We still have our moments when we think we'll be seeing Gizmo just around the corner. He was a great cat.
