Rom Hacking

I thought I made a thread for this on the forums. Anyways I got back into this hobby again, and I've been looking into hacking both the final version of Sonic Drift as well as the auto demo. I discovered something new that's different from the final game that I need to document and share with Sonic Retro. Also someone finally added my research to The Cutting Room Floor, it only took them 5 years to do so though. :V I noticed that Star Light Green has no power ups in the auto demo. I can't get the controls unlocked but if I can study and figure out how the hardcoded inputs work I could get the game to pick that stage and have Sonic drive through the course with no issues to showcase that there are no power ups but that will take me a minute. I know where the hardcoded inputs are and what code points to it, so that part is taken care of already.

I've decided to continue working on the disassembly of the final game rather than working on the demo for now.

The Sonic Hacking Contest is live now, and hackers are submitting their hacks. I can't wait to play some new 16 bit Sonic hacks and I am a judge again this year so I get to review the hacks I play.
